- CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
- Bachelors Degree in Finance; MSU-Billings
I grew up in the mountains near Glacier National Park and graduated from Columbia Falls High School. While there, I competed in Cross-Country and Softball. My running took me to Montana State University – Billings where I competed in Cross-Country. After graduating with my Bachelors Degree in Finance, I moved home to the Flathead and continued to race in local 5k’s, 10k’s and half marathons.
After having my first child, I was training for my first marathon when a step off a curb caused my hips to go out and pinch a nerve in my low back. After a lengthy rehab, I realized I needed to start lifting weights to build strength and stability in my hips. A growing child also meant there was less time for long runs. A friend recommended CrossFit and that is where the love story began.
CrossFit spoke to my competitive side and I liked that it was constantly changing. After a year, I had a new confidence that can only be attributed to CrossFit. I found the confidence I was gaining the gym was translating to my daily life.
I coached track for 6 years, but decided to take my love of coaching and love of CrossFit and bring them together at Big Mountain CrossFit. I received my Level 1 in July of 2019 and have really enjoyed getting to know the membership as a coach.
